Lord Henry Wotton
Lord Henry is a man who believes his theories define life. A charming talker, every word he speaks inspires those who listen. Upon hearing of Dorian Gray, he attempts to befriend the man. Within moments, he captures Dorian interest, luring the young man down the beginning of a horrific path. Lord Henry displays no empathy toward others, constantly overshadowing their thoughts with his own. He has no interest with love or woman, displaying a rather harsh hatred towards those two subject. Although his theories are beyond a standard, Lord Henry stays fully compose through out the novel. Standing strong with his own belief, not letting anyone sway his mind away like he does to Dorian. Although Lord Henry stands his grounds, pursuing only his beliefs, he lacks the quality of when to realize the limit in life. When Dorian comes to realize his sins, Lord Henry fails to take advantage to understand the meaning and reason of Dorian's transformation. Almost as if he avoids at all cost to grasp the recognition of his sins.
