Alan Campbell
Alan Campbell is known for being a notable musician and a brilliant chemist and biologist. He brings out a noble and auspicious personality. He has known Dorian Gray since his childhood days. It is inferred that they had a homosexual bond. When they had intimacy, Alan saw Dorian's true colors and was left aghast trying to absorb what he had just seen. This had crushed him so much he could no longer bear to endure happiness; hence, he drowned his misery into science. Many years later Dorian calls him to dispose of Basil's body. When he disagrees Dorian threatens to send a homosexual letter. He is compelled to make Basil's body disappear. Once he is done he commits suicide because he can not bear to have something so atrocious on his conscience. Alan is like a marionette throughout the novel, and Dorian is the controller of his strings.
